My son is very close and does about 50-60 sit ups, 30-40 crunches, and 30 second planks everyday.

Is this a good workout for a 13 year old weighing 108 pounds, 5 foot 1? 1000 crunches an ab lounger. 5 reps of 1 minute planks. 8 minute abs workout video 3 times. Walk around 236 meter track 5 times with 5 pound weights. Have healthy diet with lots of water. Go on excercise bike for 1 hr, eleptical trainer 15 minutes, 50 sit ups with 10 pound medicine ball. 50, 30 pound chest presses. 200 5 pound weight curls in 1 arm, jump rope 10 minutes. How long would this take to see results in the abdominal area and arm area?

Drop them, they won’t help. Use weights.
An excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it’s parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat – if you have any – six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches – I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

How can I get six pack abs?

Twice or three times a day for about a month I’ve been doing a series crunches, and sit ups whilst holding onto a fairly light weight. I also do a stretch called ‘the plank‘ everyday and try to beat my record of how long i can do it. I try and do press-ups, but I find them very hard to do!

What else can I do to get six pack abs? Should I be strengthening other muscles as well? So far I don’t see any appearance of muscles on my flat stomach. I’m tall and thin, and try not to each much junk.

It is all about body fat. You need to get down to 5 to 7% to see your abs. You can do all the sit-ups and training you want but it comes down to body fat. You need to add aerobic conditioning to your training.

Everything you eat goes to your stomach especially fat.so you also want to work out the other muscles in your body and distribute it evenly your muscle will use everything you eat. By then your abs will naturally reveal them selfs.do sit ups and crunches daily also chin ups girl and guy way alternate daily always take 1-2 days of rest weekly thats is where your abs will grow also work out your back and shoulder muscle so they can support ab growth.abs being one of the hardest muscle patterns to gain if your starting forom zero itll be two weeks before you get the first two using sit ups.next two could take month or two using crunches and the last two some people hardly ever get they just get one big one or the form.that could take as long as 6 months.also always work out your chest.i would like to know what planks are.just another ab excersize i can do.

im 12 im 5′ i weight 82 pounds.how much time will it take after i do this
every morning: 20 crunches, 20 side crunches, 15 reverse crunches, 45 seconds of plank, 20 seconds of side plank, 60 seconds of bridge, 15 push ups
every day after school: 25 crunches, 22 side crunches, 20 reverse crunches, 54 seconds of plank, 24 seconds of side plank, 80 seconds of bridge, 15 push ups
every day before bed: 30 crunches, 22 side crunches, 23 reverse crunches, 54 seconds of plank, 30 seconds of side plank, 90 seconds of bridge, 20 push ups

Your still quite young to wonder about your abs but I think it’s better to focus on crunches than bench press at 12.

First thing first, the most important thing about abs is to have a low % of body fat, which I think you already have at 82 pounds.

Secondly, abs are muscles just like any other muscles. What I mean is that if you train your abs every day, you will over train them and gain much more endurance than strength and volume. Because your abs are small muscles, just like forearms or biceps, you can train them up to twice a week with a break of at least 2 days in between.

Also, focus on the way you train your abs, not the number of repetitions (stay in control, slow and hard contractions). Don’t forget to breath correctly and search the internet for the best way to perform your exercises (ex: youtube.com).

Follow these and you will get your six pack in no time! Don’t forget to eat well, listen to your mother and have fun :P
